Faith Formation at St. Joseph Parish provides children and youth with the opportunity to grow in their Catholic faith, prepare for the sacraments, and develop a lifelong relationship with God. Our program runs from Year 1 through Year 9, guiding young parishioners through their sacramental journey and beyond.

Faith Formation Coordinator

As Faith Formation Coordinator, I am privileged to journey with children, youth, and families as they grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ and deepen their understanding of our Catholic faith. My responsibilities include preparing and coordinating sacramental programs for First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, and Confirmation.

I look forward to getting to know and working alongside our parish families as we plant the seeds of faith, grow in God's love, and learn together as a faith community.

Our Program

Years 1 & 2

Preparation for First Eucharist and First Reconciliation. Children are introduced to the sacramental life of the Church and the real presence of Christ.

Years 3 – 8

Ongoing faith education that deepens understanding of Scripture, Catholic tradition, prayer, and moral life. Children grow in their relationship with God and the Church.

Year 9

Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation — the sealing of the gifts of the Holy Spirit received at Baptism. This is an important milestone in a young person's faith journey.

Registration

Registration Fee

$20.00 per child. All materials needed for the year are included in the fee.

If the fee cannot be paid due to financial burden, please contact Nancy at the office. No child will be denied!

Baptismal Certificate

Parents are kindly asked to provide a copy of their child's baptismal certificate if their child will be receiving First Eucharist or Confirmation. If your child was baptized at St. Joseph Port Hawkesbury, we may already have a copy on file — just provide the year of baptism.

Cancellation Policy

If school is cancelled due to weather or other reasons, Faith Formation classes are also cancelled. Please check 101.5 The Hawk, our private Facebook page, or watch for an email notification.
